# PreVue vs When We First

The clearest difference is rating: PreVue at 4.3 against When We First's 3.6. When We First's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PreVue sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and When We First sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $50.00 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PreVue holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 21 and 19 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of PreVue's written reviews are positive against 57% of When We First's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PreVue ships an update monthly, When We First fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
