# iTranscribe vs FoxNote

The clearest difference is ads: FoxNote at none against iTranscribe's shown. iTranscribe's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 29%) and ratings volume (6.8K vs 344). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iTranscribe sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and FoxNote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for iTranscribe against 4.5 for FoxNote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iTranscribe has 6.8K ratings behind it against 344, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 48% of iTranscribe's written reviews are positive against 29% of FoxNote's.

iTranscribe ships an update every 2 weeks, FoxNote fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
