# MIDI Layers vs PhaseX

The clearest difference is price: PhaseX at $5.99 against MIDI Layers's $12.99. PhaseX also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). MIDI Layers's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13 vs 17.6). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

MIDI Layers costs $12.99 and PhaseX $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
