# Helium Mobile vs Passage Connect

Helium Mobile and Passage Connect both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Passage Connect's written reviews are positive against 51% of Helium Mobile's. Passage Connect also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). Helium Mobile's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Helium Mobile holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Helium Mobile has 15K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Helium Mobile's written reviews are positive against 100% of Passage Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Helium Mobile ships an update every 2 weeks, Passage Connect every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
