# Beni vs Croissant

The clearest difference is monetization model: Croissant at free against Beni's free with in-app purchases. Croissant also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (559 vs 86). Beni's advantage is review sentiment (84% vs 62%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Croissant holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Croissant has 559 ratings behind it against 86, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Beni's written reviews are positive against 62% of Croissant's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Beni ships an update weekly, Croissant every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
