# Shadowchat vs teckel

The clearest difference is update cadence: teckel at every 5 weeks against Shadowchat's every 4 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shadowchat sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and teckel sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shadowchat ships an update every 4 months, teckel every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
