# Character Search vs Brain Forest

The clearest difference is update cadence: Brain Forest at weekly against Character Search's fortnightly. Brain Forest also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Character Search sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Brain Forest sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Character Search ships an update fortnightly, Brain Forest weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
