# STROBE vs Light

The clearest difference is rating: Light at 5.0 against STROBE's 4.3. STROBE's advantage is ratings volume (12 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Light holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: STROBE has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

STROBE ships an update every 11 days, Light every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
