# Screen Pencil vs Recall

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Screen Pencil at 100% against Recall's 53%. Screen Pencil also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). Recall's advantage is ratings volume (127 vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Screen Pencil holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recall has 127 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Screen Pencil's written reviews are positive against 53% of Recall's.

Screen Pencil ships an update every 8 days, Recall every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
