# Lively Widget vs Video Widget

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lively Widget at 78% against Video Widget's 40%. Video Widget's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (540 vs 37). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lively Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Video Widget sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Widget has 540 ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Lively Widget's written reviews are positive against 40% of Video Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lively Widget ships an update monthly, Video Widget fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
