# Calendar vs Shared Calendar

The clearest difference is rating: Shared Calendar at 5.0 against Calendar's 4.6. Shared Calendar also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). Calendar's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 64%) and ratings volume (35 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Shared Calendar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shared Calendar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendar has 35 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Calendar's written reviews are positive against 64% of Shared Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calendar ships an update every 5 weeks, Shared Calendar weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
