# MTD Connect vs Rex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Rex at every 4 days against MTD Connect's every 2 months. Rex also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). MTD Connect's advantage is ratings volume (98 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MTD Connect has 98 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MTD Connect ships an update every 2 months, Rex every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
