# HoloShield vs ShieldGen

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ShieldGen at 85% against HoloShield's 33%. ShieldGen also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 8 days). HoloShield's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HoloShield sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per 7 days and ShieldGen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HoloShield holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 540 and 348 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of HoloShield's written reviews are positive against 85% of ShieldGen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HoloShield ships an update every 8 days, ShieldGen daily. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
