# Symbols vs Math Automata

The clearest difference is ads: Symbols at none against Math Automata's shown. Math Automata's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Symbols sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Math Automata sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Symbols ships an update every 6 weeks, Math Automata every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
