# Gambit vs Fire VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fire VPN at free with in-app purchases against Gambit's subscription. Fire VPN also leads on review sentiment (37% vs 27%) and device support (4 vs 2). Gambit's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gambit sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Fire VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gambit ships an update every 11 days, Fire VPN every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
