# LockWidget vs Lock Widget

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Lock Widget at none against LockWidget's 7. LockWidget's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (28K vs 5). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LockWidget sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Lock Widget asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for LockWidget against 4.4 for Lock Widget. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LockWidget has 28K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of LockWidget's written reviews are positive against 50% of Lock Widget's.

LockWidget ships an update fortnightly, Lock Widget every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
