# Relay | Communicator vs IAVM Events

The clearest difference is rating: Relay | Communicator at 4.8 against IAVM Events's 4.3. Relay | Communicator also leads on ratings volume (438 vs 12) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). IAVM Events's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Relay | Communicator holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Relay | Communicator has 438 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Relay | Communicator's written reviews are positive against 100% of IAVM Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Relay | Communicator ships an update every 2 weeks, IAVM Events every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
