# Wordyssey vs Dropping Penguin

The clearest difference is update cadence: Wordyssey at every 2 days against Dropping Penguin's every 5 months. Wordyssey also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wordyssey sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dropping Penguin sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wordyssey ships an update every 2 days, Dropping Penguin every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
