# Tasks vs Live Shortcut

The clearest difference is rating: Tasks at 4.4 against Live Shortcut's 3.8. Tasks also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 months). Live Shortcut's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 57%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tasks sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Live Shortcut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tasks holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tasks has 54 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Tasks's written reviews are positive against 70% of Live Shortcut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tasks ships an update every 2 days, Live Shortcut every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
