# Lek vs AI Write Buddy

The clearest difference is rating: AI Write Buddy at 5.0 against Lek's 4.6. Lek's advantage is ratings volume (83 vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lek sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and AI Write Buddy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Write Buddy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lek has 83 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lek ships an update every 3 weeks, AI Write Buddy every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
