# Jot vs TheMadNote

The clearest difference is update cadence: TheMadNote at every 2 weeks against Jot's every 2 months. Jot's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TheMadNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Jot ships an update every 2 months, TheMadNote every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
