# Jot vs Palmyst

The clearest difference is ads: Jot at none against Palmyst's shown. Jot also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Palmyst's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Palmyst sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Jot against 5.0 for Palmyst. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively.

Jot ships an update every 2 months, Palmyst every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
