# Power Dig vs Holy Mackerel

Power Dig and Holy Mackerel both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Holy Mackerel's written reviews are positive against 23% of Power Dig's. Holy Mackerel also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). Power Dig's advantage is ratings volume (6.2K vs 13). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Power Dig sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Holy Mackerel sells 22 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Power Dig against 4.5 for Holy Mackerel. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Power Dig has 6.2K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 23% of Power Dig's written reviews are positive against 100% of Holy Mackerel's.

Power Dig ships an update every 5 weeks, Holy Mackerel fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
