# NDI Player vs Vid

The clearest difference is price: NDI Player at Free against Vid's $4.99. NDI Player also leads on ratings volume (18 vs 1). Vid's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.8) and in-app purchases (none vs 4). On update cadence, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

NDI Player is free to download; Vid costs $4.99 up front. NDI Player sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Vid asks for nothing beyond the download.

Vid holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NDI Player has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NDI Player ships an update fortnightly, Vid every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
