# Sootly vs Minimal Type

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Minimal Type at none against Sootly's 3. Minimal Type also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.6). Sootly's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sootly sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Minimal Type asks for nothing beyond the download.

Minimal Type holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sootly has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
