# Homeguardsmart vs Security Home

The clearest difference is rating: Homeguardsmart at 5.0 against Security Home's 4.3. Homeguardsmart also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Security Home's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 1) and review sentiment (19% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Homeguardsmart sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Homeguardsmart holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Homeguardsmart's written reviews are positive against 19% of Security Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Homeguardsmart ships an update every 10 months, Security Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
