# WidgetWorks vs Live Shortcut

The clearest difference is rating: WidgetWorks at 4.3 against Live Shortcut's 3.8. WidgetWorks also leads on ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WidgetWorks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Live Shortcut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WidgetWorks holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of WidgetWorks's written reviews are positive against 70% of Live Shortcut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WidgetWorks ships an update every 8 months, Live Shortcut every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
