# GIF Maker Studio vs Skwish

The clearest difference is rating: GIF Maker Studio at 4.6 against Skwish's 4.0. GIF Maker Studio also leads on ratings volume (320 vs 2) and review sentiment (61% vs 50%). Skwish's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GIF Maker Studio sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Skwish sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GIF Maker Studio holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GIF Maker Studio has 320 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of GIF Maker Studio's written reviews are positive against 50% of Skwish's.

GIF Maker Studio ships an update monthly, Skwish weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
