# Spider Evolution vs Volcano Island

Spider Evolution and Volcano Island both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Spider Evolution's written reviews are positive against 22% of Volcano Island's. Spider Evolution also leads on ratings volume (306 vs 43). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spider Evolution sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Volcano Island sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Spider Evolution against 4.8 for Volcano Island. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spider Evolution has 306 ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of Spider Evolution's written reviews are positive against 22% of Volcano Island's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
