# Wildfire Map Tracker vs FWAS

The clearest difference is rating: Wildfire Map Tracker at 5.0 against FWAS's 3.1. Wildfire Map Tracker also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 4 months). FWAS's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wildfire Map Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. FWAS asks for nothing beyond the download.

Wildfire Map Tracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FWAS has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Wildfire Map Tracker's written reviews are positive against 25% of FWAS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Wildfire Map Tracker ships an update daily, FWAS every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and June 1, 2026 respectively.
