# HotTunnel VPN vs Zen7 VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Zen7 VPN at 4.4 against HotTunnel VPN's 3.6. HotTunnel VPN's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 83%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HotTunnel VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Zen7 VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zen7 VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 40 and 114 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of HotTunnel VPN's written reviews are positive against 83% of Zen7 VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HotTunnel VPN ships an update fortnightly, Zen7 VPN every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
