# Scrypted vs HINT Control

The clearest difference is rating: Scrypted at 5.0 against HINT Control's 4.3. HINT Control's advantage is review sentiment (66% vs 33%) and ratings volume (113 vs 16). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scrypted holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HINT Control has 113 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Scrypted's written reviews are positive against 66% of HINT Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scrypted ships an update every 3 weeks, HINT Control every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
