# Forma vs XLSX Sheets

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Forma at 69% against XLSX Sheets's 23%. Forma also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (26K vs 2.9K). XLSX Sheets's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forma sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and XLSX Sheets sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Forma holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forma has 26K ratings behind it against 2.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Forma's written reviews are positive against 23% of XLSX Sheets's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
