# Forma vs PDF Pocket

The clearest difference is rating: Forma at 4.7 against PDF Pocket's 4.0. Forma also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 1) and chart position (#103 vs unranked). PDF Pocket's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forma sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and PDF Pocket sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Forma holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forma has 26K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Forma ships an update every 3 weeks, PDF Pocket weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
