# Bakcou vs OluKai

The clearest difference is ads: OluKai at none against Bakcou's shown. OluKai also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 29). Bakcou's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Bakcou against 4.9 for OluKai. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OluKai has 1.1K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Bakcou's written reviews are positive against 76% of OluKai's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
