# PGA Member vs Next Recorder

The clearest difference is rating: Next Recorder at 5.0 against PGA Member's 3.9. Next Recorder also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). PGA Member's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Next Recorder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PGA Member has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PGA Member ships an update every 2 months, Next Recorder fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
