# DefenseRecorder vs Fun Spectrum Analyzer

The clearest difference is update cadence: Fun Spectrum Analyzer at every 2 weeks against DefenseRecorder's monthly. DefenseRecorder's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DefenseRecorder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Fun Spectrum Analyzer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DefenseRecorder ships an update monthly, Fun Spectrum Analyzer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
