# Scan.Plus vs Summary

The clearest difference is ads: Scan.Plus at none against Summary's shown. Scan.Plus also leads on ratings volume (747 vs 12). Summary's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan.Plus sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Summary sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Scan.Plus against 4.7 for Summary. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan.Plus has 747 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 85% of Scan.Plus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Summary's.

Scan.Plus ships an update every 3 weeks, Summary every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
