# BookWatch vs RPS Service

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RPS Service at none against BookWatch's 23. RPS Service also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). BookWatch's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (14K vs 3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BookWatch sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. RPS Service asks for nothing beyond the download.

RPS Service holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookWatch has 14K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BookWatch ships an update every 3 days, RPS Service every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
