# BookWatch vs Dianetics

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dianetics at 100% against BookWatch's 51%. Dianetics also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 23) and ads (none vs shown). BookWatch's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 30) and chart position (#143 vs unranked). On price and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BookWatch sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Dianetics asks for nothing beyond the download.

Dianetics holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookWatch has 14K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of BookWatch's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dianetics's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
