# Pixel Pets vs Interactive Widgets

The clearest difference is monetization model: Interactive Widgets at free with in-app purchases against Pixel Pets's subscription. Pixel Pets's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixel Pets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Interactive Widgets sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pixel Pets holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Pets has 151 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of Pixel Pets's written reviews are positive against 56% of Interactive Widgets's.

Pixel Pets ships an update every 2 weeks, Interactive Widgets every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
