# SIMPL vs PREP Self

The clearest difference is update cadence: PREP Self at daily against SIMPL's every 2 weeks. PREP Self also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 40%). SIMPL's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.7). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SIMPL holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of SIMPL's written reviews are positive against 67% of PREP Self's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SIMPL ships an update every 2 weeks, PREP Self daily. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
