# Mamame vs Vanilla cosmetics

Mamame and Vanilla cosmetics both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 78% of Mamame's written reviews are positive against 47% of Vanilla cosmetics's. Vanilla cosmetics's advantage is ratings volume (6.5K vs 31) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Mamame against 4.4 for Vanilla cosmetics. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vanilla cosmetics has 6.5K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Mamame's written reviews are positive against 47% of Vanilla cosmetics's.

Mamame ships an update fortnightly, Vanilla cosmetics every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
