# Timer vs IRL

The clearest difference is rating: IRL at 5.0 against Timer's 4.4. IRL also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (442 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and IRL sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IRL holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer has 442 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Timer ships an update every 4 days, IRL every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
