# Safe Passenger vs EDR Passenger

The clearest difference is rating: EDR Passenger at 3.0 against Safe Passenger's 2.5. EDR Passenger also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). Safe Passenger's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 0%) and ratings volume (20 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EDR Passenger holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Safe Passenger has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Safe Passenger's written reviews are positive against 0% of EDR Passenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Safe Passenger ships an update every 10 days, EDR Passenger every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
