# Pixel Pets vs AppStract

The clearest difference is rating: AppStract at 5.0 against Pixel Pets's 4.0. Pixel Pets's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AppStract holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Pets has 50 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pixel Pets ships an update every 4 days, AppStract every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
