# VSim vs Lightsend

The clearest difference is ads: Lightsend at none against VSim's shown. Lightsend also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). VSim's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VSim sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Lightsend sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lightsend holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VSim has 17K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of VSim's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lightsend's.

VSim ships an update every 2 months, Lightsend every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
