# TV Remote vs QR Code Reader

The clearest difference is rating: QR Code Reader at 5.0 against TV Remote's 4.4. QR Code Reader also leads on iOS requirement (11.2 vs 15.0). TV Remote's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and QR Code Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Code Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TV Remote ships an update every 3 weeks, QR Code Reader every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
