# TV Remote vs RokuMate

TV Remote and RokuMate both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of RokuMate's written reviews are positive against 30% of TV Remote's. TV Remote's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (3.2K vs 41). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and RokuMate sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for TV Remote against 4.3 for RokuMate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 3.2K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of TV Remote's written reviews are positive against 75% of RokuMate's.

TV Remote ships an update every 3 weeks, RokuMate every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
