# Total Academy vs Bites

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Total Academy at none against Bites's 10. Total Academy also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Bites's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bites sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Total Academy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Total Academy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bites has 2.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Total Academy ships an update every 3 weeks, Bites fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
